The Church Studio 1

UK Producer Paul Epworth (Adele, Florence and the Machine, Foster the People) moved into the legendary Church Studios in 2013 after a 10 year occupancy by David Gray. The Miloco Builds team, working closely with Paul, have spent most of 2014 completely transforming the building into a world class recording complex fit for the 21st Century.

The Church Studio 1 is a vast tracking room on the upper floor of the building. Miloco Builds took on the task of installing a formidable 72 Channel Vintage EMI Neve console comprised of two halves: one which originated from Abbey Road and recorded hits such as Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here; and the other which came from the famous Pathe Marconi Studios in Paris. Along with reorienting the room and building a new machine room, Paul’s vision was to be able to work in the same room as the artist. Miloco Builds designed and built the large suspended acoustic panels seen above the console to control the monitoring area, as well as completely refurbishing the building’s communal areas.
