Ben Hillier had a large warehouse space which he liked to use as a ‘no separation’ environment incorporating both recording and control rooms in the same space. However, in order to make it more flexible and appealing to engineers who prefer more conventional modes of recording he needed a control room and booths, but which could still be utilised to provide that unique ‘one room’ feel. We achieved this using a lot of glass; the raised control room and booth gave a clear line of sight across the vast live area, and we were able to maintain the room’s acoustics.
"Miloco Builds run a tight ship. The ability to also use the control room as a booth is a great asset and the job ran very smoothly and on budget. It's great to have builders who understand how records are made and hence are able to come up with practical solutions during the building process." Ben Hiller, producer /engineer
